Mrs. Mead is very much a “hands-on owner.” You will find her in the classroom as well as on the clinic floor. Teaching is her passion. Mrs. Mead has been an educator for a number of years and can make the very complicated subjects seem simple and easy to understand. She also has the obvious “owner responsibilities,” but her door is always open to students. Mrs. Mead has spent a lot of time working with Opera Omaha so she brings a wealth of knowledge about stage and wigs to her educational repertoire.
Mr. Mead is the author of the EQ STARS program. He and Mrs. Mead developed this program as the foundation of EQ School of Hair Design. Mr. Mead is passionate about doing things with quality and integrity so that everyone can work and learn in a professional atmosphere. His expertise is in business and finance. Mr. Mead brings a wealth of knowledge derived from his experience in areas other than cosmetology. You will meet Mr. Mead the first week of school as he introduces the STARS program.
Financial Aid Director
Financial aid can be difficult to understand, but Mrs. Ring has a wealth of knowledge to help you with the process. She will help you complete your FASFA, explain the different elements of financial aid, and provide you with information during school and answer any questions you may have about your FA after you graduate. Her longtime commitment to EQ School of Hair Design, as well as being a former graduate, mean she has a great deal of knowledge about cosmetology and what it takes to be a successful student. Her door is always open to help you as you move through the various phases of learning.
As the administrative assistant, Ms. Puterbaugh plays an important role at EQ School of Hair Design. One of the most important parts of her job is computing student attendance and grades. Ms. Puterbaugh prepares a weekly printout for each student that keeps you abreast of your progress while you are in school. This helps students prepare and plan for their success at EQ School of Hair Design. In addition to those duties, she assists the management team with traditional office duties.
Mrs. Rife is one of those people that never stops learning and is committed to you – the learner! She will ensure that you leave EQ School of Hair Design with as much information as she can impart upon you. Mrs. Rife will be an integral part of all phases of your learning. She teaches Basics and Advanced Classes as well as the Clinic Floor. She really enjoys the “one on one” with a student and is willing to take the time to walk you through the process. She believes in excellence and demands nothing less of herself and those that surround her. Mrs. Rife also believes that learning should be fun and has incorporated games and prizes as a part of her teaching style.
Sara, an EQ alum, is one of the smiling faces you’ll see at the school. She is living her dream of being an instructor of cosmetology. You will find Ms Sara in the classroom and on the clinic floor assisting and guiding the students with their services and hair care needs.
Sara has been in the cosmetology industry for 18 years. While studying at EQ, Sara was a Master Designer. Upon graduating, Sara went to work in the salon earning the Top Colorist Award year after year. She is licensed in 2 states and holds an Instructors license. Sara now has her own salon and has returned to EQ as the Director of Admissions. Sara is responsible for making prospective students feel welcome and informed from the moment they step into the school. When she is not out recruiting top talent at college fairs and school visits, you will find her sharing her knowledge and passion for hair with students on the clinic floor.
Brooke, an EQ alum, has been working behind the chair in a salon for 5 years. While her passion for doing hair is still as strong as ever, Brooke is an educator at heart. She strives to teach students about the amazing world of cosmetology.
